Chobe River Front: Day 1 - 3

The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park which is renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities.

This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife, including elephant and hippo populations, but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them - a visit to the Chobe River Front guarantees close encounters with an array of African wildlife.

Visitors can look forward to a range of exciting activities such as 4WD along the banks; motorboat cruises; and rare birdlife spotting. For a unique, luxury safari experience, hire a houseboat.

Experiences on Day 1 - Chobe Boat Cruise

Afrter a Transfer from Kasane Airport [BBK] to Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa and Check-in. The first activity is the Chobe Boat Cruise.

DAY 1 : Chobe River Front (Botswana)

The Chobe Boat Cruise

The Chobe Boat Cruise is a wonderful way to experience the Chobe National Park. Puku and lechwe antelopes are common on the Chobe Floodplains and herds of elephants can be seen crossing the Chobe River to the islands. Other common sites are hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun. There are a variety of boating options for the Chobe boat cruises. Guests can join a standard cruise on a river cruiser taking about 30-40 people or have the opportunity to take a smaller boat and focus on photography and birding. The bigger boats have bars on board for drinks and soft drinks. All Chobe boat cruises depart from Kasane, the town which borders onto the Chobe national park. There are regular afternoon and morning departures.

Chobe Game Viewing

Chobe is renowned for its excellent game viewing, especially for herds of elephants which come down to the river to drink.

Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) (Day 3 - 5)

Victoria Falls is one of the world’s most impressive waterfalls and one of the best places to visit in Southern Africa. It is set on the magnificent Zambezi River which creates the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

These spectacular falls can be easily visited and viewed from the Zimbabwean side. Considered to be the world’s widest waterfalls, Victoria Falls measures an impressive 1708 metres in width. The small town of Victoria Falls, which lies adjacent to the waterfalls, serves as a great base from which to explore the many attractions this area of Zimbabwe has to offer.

The surrounding area provides a wide range of adrenalin-filled activities for adventure lovers. Visitors can look forward to an array of wonderful activities including: scenic flights, micro lighting, white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, and once-in-a-lifetime expeditions into the incredible Chobe National Park.

Shearwater Explorers Village

Day 3 at the Shearwater Explorers Village, 2 Nights Bed & Breakfast. A checkout from Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa and transfer to Shearwater Explorers Village and Check in on the same day. This is where you will begin your 2 night stay at this beautiful ecosystem Surrounded by indigenous vegetation and wildlife, the accommodation features a range of standard and deluxe rooms as well as camping facilities.

Day 4

Shearwater Sunset Cruise

The sunset cruise on the Zambezi River is a definite must on any trip to Victoria Falls. Relax with a sundowner and snacks as you gaze out onto the banks of the river. Have your camera ready to capture one of the most amazing sunsets in Africa.

You'll be sure to spot wildlife animals as they come down to the river for a drink after a hot day in the Zambezi National Park (Zimbabwe) and the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park (Zambia). Sightings of elephant, giraffe and other resident game are common.

There's always an abundance of hippos and crocodiles. Birdlife is superb and the Fisheagles will usually fill the scene with their calls.

Day 4

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Boma Dinner

Enjoy an evening of non-stop entertainment and good food and drinks at The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show. Upon arrival, guests are dressed in a chitenge and invited to partake in a traditional handwashing ceremony. Following this, guests can enjoy performances by traditional singers, dancers and drummers, face painting, and a four-course dinner featuring local cuisine.
